This Procurement Interim job in Edinburgh with the National Trust for Scotland is an amazing opportunity for a procurement specialist to join the team for a period of at least 6 months.  As Procurement Interim, you will support delivery of the Trust’s Procurement Strategy (aligned to the Trust’s overall corporate strategy and objectives) and be able to represent Procurement to internal stakeholders and suppliers as required. Specifically, your duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Implement strategic procurement across the Trust including developing category management plans, undertaking strategic sourcing, working collaboratively on tender processes and subsequent contract management of key suppliers
  • Provide procurement support to internal stakeholders at up to and including C-Suite level, offering advice and guidance on sustainable procurement, procurement policy and processes
  • Develop strong collaborative working relationships with key suppliers to ensure business critical contracts are delivered as expected, with on-going improvements in value and sustainability over the period of the contract
  • Support various Trust-wide projects including the implementation of the Sustainable Procurement Policy and procurement procedures; supplier rationalisation; achieving savings targets and ultimately reducing the Trust's Scope 3 carbon emissions

In order to be successful, it is envisaged that you will be MCIPS accredited, or working towards full accreditation, and have worked in a large, complex project-driven environment.  With excellent stakeholder and supplier management skills, as Procurement Interim you will be able to support a number of key initiatives whilst working collaboratively with a small, focussed and tight-knit team.  As this opportunity is offered on a fixed term contract basis with the client keen to appoint as soon as possible, only candidates who are immediately available or have a short notice period will be considered at this time.

If you are passionate about preserving Scotland's heritage and have a proven ability to add value from a procurement perspective, do not hesitate to get in touch at your earliest convenience for a confidential, non-obligatory conversation.
